| EKI manufactures optical industrial keyboard
where the finger is detected by a matrix of infrared sensors with drift
free technology so they can be used outside, desk top or the factory floor.
There are no nooks and crannies around keys so they can be just washed
off if something is spilled on them. As standard they can be either completely
silent or have an audible response.
Rugged Industrial keyboards that will not wear out, rated at 30,000,000
touches per year. EKI's industrial keyboard detects your finger optically
so there are no moving parts, and no domes to crack... these are not membrane
or mechanical switch keyboards, you can stick a knife in the touch surface
and not affect the life or operation. Keyboard can have permanent, semi-permanent
key text overlays. Industrial keyboard that can I/O dual ascii (rs-232
or rs-422), USB or PS2 codes and sequences of codes. They are sealed so
they can be easily washed off. Only a $240 NRE for making our custom keyboards
and keypads fit your application.
With our industrial keyboards that use PS2
output, there is no other connections required.

Our industrial keyboards are also compact in size so
they can be used on your lap, stand, or desk. We have models that can be
mounted to a panel or machine. They can be fitted with a touch pad to one
side, or in the middle of the keyboard.
And because they're optical we can make them to fit your application.
You can have only the keys you want, your name, your colors, your organization's
name, your department, and text (a function name). And Hot Keys, one key
can input a URL, ctrl-C, etc., so if you're using a program that you press
a sequence of keys on a regular basis, those sequences can be programmed
into one key with the function name put on the key position.
The price of the custom key text overlay is included in the price,
and because there are no moving parts they will never wear out.
We also make them in any language. You send us the keys you want
and we'll send you a keyboard.

(stand alone industrial keyboard) is
$289 in quantity one. This NEMA 4 standalone
industrial keyboard just sits on a table or piece of equipment and is sealed
to NEMA 4. The cable plugs into the PS2 port and is permanently attached
to the keyboard. The keyboard is shown with one of many overlay styles
that EKI custom makes for no extra change to fit a customers application.
The keyboard is 12.50 inches (317mm) wide, and 6.25 inches (159mm) deep,
and 1.50 inch (38mm) thick at the rear. The keyboard above can be fitted
with the optional Cirque touch panel as shown below in the SAMPLE key overlay
patterns for an extra $50. The keyboard is mounted to a angled mount that
can be removed allowing the keyboard to be mounted directly to a surface.

Flush Mounted Industrial Keyboard ONLY $229

NEMA 4 (flush mount keyboard) or-FMT (flush mount
w/threads) is $229 in quantity
one, w/Touch Pad +$50. The 83 PKB-FM is a flush mount
keyboard that mounts from the rear through a customers panel, when mounted
it is sealed. The gasket is included with the keyboard. The cable plugs
into the PS2 port and to the keyboard. The keyboard is 12.00 inches (305mm)
wide, and 6.25 inches (159mm) deep, and 1.00 inch (26mm) thick. The key
text area is 3.75 inches (95mm) by 9.75 inches(247mm). In the -FM
there are eight mounting holes .169 inches in diameter to fit over 4-40
standoffs, the standoff part number is PEM BSO-440-10, they can be purchased
from Penn Engineering. In the -FMT there are eight
mounting holes with 8-32 threads for mounting with the heads exposed, click
on "Mounting" for a drawing to show the screw position.

Arrow Keys - by touching these keys the
cursor will move in the direction of the arrow touched. The movement is
first slow and then increases to fast movement. For accurate placement
you can tap these arrows to get very small amounts of movement. Left
Click - Operates as other left button mice, you can single click or
double click. Double Left Click - One touch will give you
a double click to open icons and files. Right Click - Operates as
other right button mice. Drag - by placing the cursor over an icon
then touch an arrow key will drag the icon, then once the arrow key is
released the icon is fixed in position. Start Fast - by touching
this key prior to an arrow key will make the cursor rapidly move across
the display, then when you get close to where you are going raise your

one. The 20 PKB-SM's above are surface mount industrial
keyboards or industrial keypad that mount on top of a customers panel,
when mounted are sealed. The gasket is included with the keyboard. It can
be mounted horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait) depending on your
key pattern. The cable plugs into the PS2 port and to the keyboard. There
are 4 mounting holes that have 8-32 threads. The 20 PKB-SA
(stand alone) looks the same as the -SM except the PS2 cable is fixed to
the keyboard and it has four rubber feet so it can be used on a desk or
shop table. |

35 Position Industrial Keyboards
The 35 position panel mount keyboards have the same overall
size as the 20 position industrial keyboard or industrial keypad, and mount
the same way. The only difference is there are more sensors inside to detect
the added positions, and are slightly higher in cost. The
35 PKB-FM is $179, and the 35 PKB-SM is $194.
The key pitch is .5 inches.
