There is no detection means on, in or under the large touchpad surface, you can even stick a knife in the touchpad surface and not affect the life or operation of the IM 1013. The IM 1013 Industrial Touchpad Mouse detects your finger or multiple gloves optically and has no moving parts like other mice, joystick or trackball do. It can be NEMA 4 and either mounted or standalone. The IM 1013 computer mouse has no seals to leak or glands to crack, and no moving parts to wear out or get clogged by contaminants. And the IM 1013 can have custom PS2 keyboard keys and PS2 mouse keys on the touchpad for no extra charge.

The IM 1013 can have PS2 mouse keys, PS2 keyboard keys and a mouse movement touchpad area. If the IM 1013 has a mouse only design then one cable supplied is connected to the PS2 mouse port.

If the IM 1013 has keypad keys and mouse functions then two cables are supplied, one connected to the PS2 mouse port and one connected to the PS2 Keyboard port.

There is no software to load for either the mouse or keypad operation, and power is supplied from the PS2 port.

Operation depends on the overlay design. The EKI more standard mice overlay is in the vertical orientation and has three buttons across the bottom. Left button gives the same operation as a regular mouse left button. Right button gives the same operation as a regular mouse right button. Tap and double tap are supported on the IM 1013 to give click and double click for mouse operation anywhere on the touch surface.

Drag operations can be made by double tap and hold the second tap, then drag the object, or by the drag key. When using the drag key on the IM 1013 computer mouse the cursor is placed over an object to be moved. The drag key is touched, indicator comes on, then when the finger is moved in the touch area the object is moved, when the finger is stopped and raised the object is placed and the drag indicator turns off.

If finger movement is started on the touchpad surface it can be continued over a key area to continue cursor movement without activation of the keys.

Custom overlays are made to match a customers application at no extra charge, both in colors to high light a key or in number of keys, EKI wants it's mice to fit a customer and their application.

There is a bank of 12 switches on the rear to control features.

Mouse control buttons are - Switch 1 = ON disables left button, Switch 2 = ON disables right button, Switch 3 = ON disables drag button.

Switch 4 = ON disables tap, double tap, double tap and drag.

Switch 5 = ON turns off audible beep for taps and keys.

Switch 6= ON enables slower finger tracking.

Switch 9 = ON enables keypad keys.

Switch 10 = OFF enables vertical (portrait) keypad orientation, ON enables horizontal (landscape) orientation.

Cursor movement from the mouse is accelerated when the finger is moved steady, so full traverse of a display can be made in one or two finger movements, then be positioned in an area by slower shorter strokes.

The IM 1013 is not affected by changing light and can used outside, desktop or on the factory floor.

NEMA 4/IP-66 Industrial Mouse ONLY $169 IM 1013-SA-N4-B (standalone industrial mouse) is $204 in quantity one. This NEMA 4 standalone industrial mousejust sits on a table or piece of equipment and is sealed to NEMA 4. The cable plugs into the PS2 port and is permanently attached to the IM 1013. The mouse as shown with one of many overlay styles that EKI custom makes for no extra change to fit a customers application. The keyboard is 5.00 inches wide, and 5.75 inches deep, and 1.50 inch thick at the rear. The keyboard is mounted to a angled mount that can be removed allowing the keyboard to be mounted directly to a surface. IM 1013-FM (nema 4X flush mout) is $169. Supplied with mounting gasket is 1.00 inch thick. IM 1013-SM-B (nema 4X surface mount) is $184. Supplied with mounting gasket is 1.00 inch thick. Arrow Keys - by touching these keys the cursor will move in the direction of the arrow touched. The movement is first slow and then increases to fast movement. For accurate placement you can tap these arrows to get very small amounts of movement. Left Click - Operates as other left button mice, you can single click or double click. Double Left Click - One touch will give you a double click to open icons and files. Right Click - Operates as other right button mice. Drag - by placing the cursor over an icon then touch an arrow key will drag the icon, then once the arrow key is released the icon is fixed in position. Start Fast - by touching this key prior to an arrow key will make the cursor rapidly move across the display, then when you get close to where you are going raise your finger and tap the arrows for accurate positioning
